Exploring cultures and communities – the slow way

The best thing we've come across in our travels this year is not a holiday cottage but a magazine. Published in Berlin and available mainly on subscription (though individual copies are available), hidden europe is a rare gem. it is not hidebound by advertising. In this day of false-economy package tours that don't really give satisfaction, hidden europe reminds us what travel, as comfortable or as rough as you like, is all about. Admittedly, we ourselves are sold on "Old Europe", and that is what this exceptional publication is mainly about.
